[OW2 Newsletter - July 2020 - From the OW2 Management Office]

Dear OW2 Members, dear All,

This year, we turned OW2con into OW2online and, by all accounts, it was a success! With over 300 participants, 35 presentations, five sessions and speakers representing 13 nationalities, we created Europe’s first major virtual open source event. Since its inception in 2007, OW2 has been a tireless advocate of resilience, sovereignty and relocalisation in the software industry. Once again, OW2’s annual conference has proven to be a necessary and pivotal expression of the European open source ecosystem.

Our appreciation goes to the many attendees, our sponsors Orange, Software Heritage, Engineering, FundingBox, The Eclipse Foundation, BlueMind and Microsoft, the speakers who all so graciously played the game and the developers of the amazing open source software we used to put together our virtual conference platform: Kdenlive, OBS, Rocket.Chat, Pretalx, XWiki and BitTube (and YouTube Live). Check out the conference videos and slides and, if you were able to participate, please help us by filling in our short feedback survey.

We now look forward to the opportunity of meeting you in real life. Save the date for the OW2 Community Day on November 3rd, in Paris. Let’s plan an entertaining event with keynotes, roundtables, project meet-ups, best project awards, beer party and, of course, plenty of time for informal discussions. More on this shortly.

  • Fusion Directory: FusionDirectory and Kerberos integration is progressing via NFS4. More.
  • GPLI: Update your FormCreator and run GLPI 9.5 RC2 to solve recently raised issues. More.
  • Jeka: Try the latest 0.9.0.M10 now to upgrade your favorite Java build tool. More.
  • LDAP Tool Box: Discover both new features in LTB Service Desk 0.3. More.
  • Lutece: It's time to grab Lutece Core 7.0.0-RC-02 to run the latest Java CMS/Portal. More.
  • Rocket.Chat. The 3.4.0 release brings several dozens of new features and improvements. More.
  • Waarp: Update Waarp R66, the Waarp Gateway FTP 3.3.4 and the Waarp Manager 0.13.2 for important corrections. More.
  • XWiki: After five bug fixing days, the 12.5 release brings mainly end-users improvements. More.
  • AuthzForce: The project is making great progress to officialy become an OW2 mature project. More.

Project of the month

Sat4j provides a simple and efficient open source library of SAT solvers in Java. It is currently the most widely deployed SAT framework because of its adoption within the Eclipse Open platform. Sat4j is available under both the Eclipse Public License and the GNU LGPL licence. More.
