FOSDEM, February 5-6: it's FOSDEM weekend! OW2 projects and the OW2 Management Office are taking turns this Saturday and Sunday to meet with FOSDEM attendees on the (virtual) OW2 booth. Come visit us! OW2con update: Although it is showing signs of abating, this seemingly endless pandemic continues to cast uncertainties on international travel. For this reason, once again we are preparing OW2con as an online event. However, if feasible and under the right conditions, we are ready to switch to an in-person event. Whatever happens, we are preparing a face-to-face 15-year celebration in June to be confirmed in due time. The OW2con'22 Call For Presentations is open until February 27, 2022. Please send your submission ASAP! Save the date for OW2con'22, June 8-9, and check out how you can become a Sponsor! Sponsorship helps to make an even better conference. Lutece is a highly modular Open Source Platform designed by the City of Paris to handle all its ID developments. LUTECE won the 2016 OW2 Best Project Quality Award in 2016 and the Community Award in 2020 and reaches today an MRL score of 5. More.

I am pleased to introduce to our community the future CEO of OW2 – Pierre-Yves Gibello who was selected by OW2’s Board of Directors a few weeks ago. A highly qualified IT professional and long-time open source practitioner, Pierre-Yves was a founding member of OW2 before going on to serve on the Board for several years as a Corporate Member representative through Experlog, the company he created and managed at the time. He helped launch the organization as we know it today. After a successful career as an entrepreneur, software engineer in industry and research, open-source contributor, teacher at an
engineering school, three years ago I convinced him to join the OW2 management office. Pierre-Yves is the author of the data extraction code that powers our Market Readiness Level methodology and a contributor to the OW2 Good Governance initiative. An accomplished cross-country skier in his spare time, he regularly competes at national level. Pierre-Yves has all the skills required to lead OW2 and I have every confidence in his ability to continue the development of OW2.
