At Paris Open Source Summit 2018, OW2 brings together key international open source players

OW2 coordinates two majors events, the « Open Source Community Summit », a unique gathering of the major open source foundations and communities, along with a session « Open Source in Big Cities », where managers of large municipal information systems will share experiences.

Paris, le 26 novembre, 2018 - OW2, the global community for open source infrastructure software, announces the program of its presence at Paris Open Source Summit, on December 5-6 in Paris Docks. Two sessions will be coordinated by OW2, and the community will be visible on a booth. 

“Open Source Community Summit”, on December 5, from 2:00 to 4:15pm, Room Mixage
The representatives from the main open source communities and foundations will discuss the challenges of creating market value with open source while complying with free software ethical values. Eleven shorts presentations will be given, followed by a round table.

“Open Source in Big European Cities”, December 6, from 11:30am to 01:00pm, room Le montage.
In this session, managers of large municipal information systems discuss how they make open source decisions within the conventional information system but also in Smart Cities applications, Citizen Relationship Management, e-Citizenship, etc. and share best practices in implementing open source solutions. The program includes five presentations from various cities, followed by an open discussion.

  • Digital Strategy South Tyrol: How a region uses Open Data, Open Source and

  • Comptoir du Libre, a Market Place for Muni Software, Matthieu Faure, ADULLACT.
    All sessions will be held in english. 

OW2 will be also visible in the exhibition hall, stand #C17, on a shared community booth. Attendees will enjoy live demos of a large panel of open source solutions, including:
- Melodic, a multi-cloud solution for AI and Big data, presented by 7 Bulls.com.
- Signs@Work : LSF dictionary for deaf employees and their interpreters, developed in the framework of the “Mission Insertion Handicap” of Orange.
- CLIF, load and performance test platform for all kinds of systems. CLIF is part of OW2 code base and developed by Orange R & D.
- Maxwell, an agnostic and unsupervised clustering system, developed by Orange  Labs in coordination with Orange Healthcare.
- STAMP, an innovative toolset for tests automation for Java, introduced by OW2. STAMP is a 3-year project funded by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 programme.
