March 2020 Newsletter

[OW2 Newsletter - March 2020 - From the OW2 Management Office]

Dear OW2 Members, dear All,

Our new Board of Directors has now been elected. Our appreciation goes to the candidates who volunteered to sit on this year’s Board. The next step in the process is the election of the Chairperson, which will be concluded during our Board meeting on March 19th. Our General Assembly will be held on March 18th via web conference. Check out the details on our Governance page.

The central theme of this year’s OW2con is: "The Challenges of Full Stack Open Source". This refers to the challenges appearing today for decision-makers considering evolving their information systems towards open source software. As open source has become mainstream, it is not limited to the lower layer of operating systems and infrastructure middleware. Open source software right through the whole information system is what we call "full stack open source".  What is at stake is more than just deploying Linux servers; it is about defining an architecture, engaging with the whole open source ecosystem and establishing a mature governance system.

We have extended the OW2con'20 Call For Presentations until March 15th, 2020. Don’t leave your submission to the last minute! Save the date for OW2con'20, June 17-18, and check out our attractive sponsorship opportunities! Sponsorship helps to make a good conference even better.

Thanking you for your on-going support,

Cedric Thomas
