[OW2 Newsletter - May 2025 - From the OW2 Management Office] Dear OW2 Members, dear all, Now OW2con'25 is just behind us, you were still more than 200 at Orange Gardens in Paris Châtillon for these two days of friendly networking and insightful talks: warm thanks to all attendees, speakers and sponsors, moreover in such a busy month with events everywhere! All the photos and video replays are now available, if you missed the event or feel some nostalgy - but we'll be back next year :) OW2con was also the occasion of a really fuitful NGI session, that underlines again how much this funding programme matters for the community, and how efficient it is: the day after OW2con was also the occasion of reaching NGI Forum in Brussels, many of us attended both, and we would like to congratulate the NGI Outreach Office for the perfect organization - and the coordination between our respective and so complementary events! Note that NGI has been discontinued in the current EU Horizon budget, but the community's mobilization helped to make things less negative than they could: the cascade funding scheme still survives in a call named "Open Internet Stack", with a focus on technological commons and open source. Now we need all of you to help FOSS obtain grants, and push proposals that extend the NGI spirit at the top of the pile: why not becoming a EU Horizon expert, and participate in selecting proposals that bring the most value to open source? Join the EU experts pool, help the FOSS community get funded: this is also part of lobbying and it's fair - moreover, you will be paid for that. And, most important of all, have a nice summer holidays with your loved ones and families! Thanking you for your ongoing support of open source, The OW2 Management Office PS: Project leaders: Please use your project dashboard to publish your updates. Your news will appear on our Project Marketplace home page and in this newsletter.
