OW2 Community and projects were represented at FOSDEM'18.

It was busier than ever! Great to see all the friends who stopped by the OW2 table.
On display this year were the projects presented in the table below:  

Project	Main capabilities
	FusionDirectory is a solution and standard interface for the daily management of data stored in an LDAP directory.
	European-funded R&D project leveraging advanced research in automatic test generation. STAMP aims at pushing automation in DevOps one step further through innovative methods of test amplification.
	CHOReVOLUTION is an innovative solution to develop IoT-enabled applications that create value in complex and fast changing business contexts such as Smart Mobility, Smart Cities, Smart Retail and Industry 4.0. The Beta-testing Campaign is presented at FOSDEM.
	AuthZForce is an Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC) framework, compliant with XACML standard v3.0, and able to retrieve extra attributes from various sources, e.g. LDAP/SQL databases, REST services or X.509 Attribute Certificates.

About FOSDEM

FOSDEM is a two-day event organised by volunteers to promote the widespread use of free and open source software. Taking place in Brussels (Belgium), FOSDEM is a free and non-commercial event organised by the community for the community and is widely recognised as the best such conference in Europe.   

CHAOSS and GrimoireLab community propose a one-day event, to show CHAOSS and GrimoireLab updates, use cases and practical workshop/s for developers, community managers, project managers, etc. Community managers, software development managers, developers and generally anyone involved in Open Source and Inner Source software development will learn through real examples how to set up and use GrimoireLab for their specific needs.

• February 12: Organizations announced (Interested students can now begin discussing project ideas with accepted mentor organizations)
• March 12-27, 2018: Student Application Period (Students can register and submit their applications to mentor organizations)
• March 27 - April 23, 2018: Application Review Period (Organizations select student proposals)
• April 23, 2018: Student Projects Announced
• April 23 - May 14, 2018: Community Bonding (Students spend a month learning more about their organization’s community)
• May 14 - August 6, 2018: Coding
• August 6 - August 14, 208: Students Submit Code and Final Evaluations

About Google Summer of Code

Google Summer of Code is a global program focused on introducing students to open source software development. Students work on a 3 month programming project with an open source organization during their break from university.

As previously announced during berlinbuzzwords, a new conference is scheduled for next summer in Berlin – “FOSS Backstage” (June 10-12, 2018). The summit comprises of everything related to FOSS governance and open collaboration, including thoughts on how to build and manage communities within the open source space.

A Micro-Summit is organized on November 20th to get prepared for the conference, especially in terms of the content.
