OW2, la communauté internationale des logiciels d’infrastructure open source lance aujourd’hui, lors de sa conférence annuelle OW2con’21, l’initiative OW2 Quick App. Cette initiative ouverte à tous, aux membres d’OW2 comme aux non-membres, est un effort collectif pour promouvoir, sur un mode open source, la technologie des Quick App, une mise en œuvre concrète de la norme MiniApp du W3C (World Wide Web Consortium). Cette norme permet de mettre à disposition des services avancés sur des mobiles sans avoir à installer d’application au préalable.

Today OW2, the international community for open source infrastructure software, launched the OW2 Quick App initiative at its annual OW2con’21 conference. This initiative, open to all OW2 members and non-members alike, is a collective effort to promote, in an open source mode, the Quick App technology, a concrete implementation of the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) MiniApp standard. This standard allows advanced services to be made available on mobiles without the need to install an application first. The OW2 Quick App initiative will be announced online on Wednesday 23 June at 9.45am as part of the annual OW2con’21 conference by Xuemin Wang, Vice-President at Huawei European Research Institute, Christian Paterson, Senior Open Source Strategy Expert at Huawei and Martin Alvarez, Web Standards Manager at Huawei Technologies.

PARIS, June 23, 2021

Today at OW2con, a coalition of leading European open source non-profit organizations, including OW2, Eclipse Foundation, OpenForum Europe, and Foundation for Public Code, announced the OSPO Alliance with a mission to grow awareness for open source in Europe and globally and to promote the structured and professional management of open source by companies and administrations.

The OSPO Alliance aims to help companies and public institutions discover and understand open source, start benefiting from it across their activities and grow to host an Open Source Program Office (OSPO). It will be focused on the role of OSPOs as an aspect of organizational governance essential in non-technology sectors including education and public administration.

The OSPO Alliance is also announcing the establishment of the OSPO.Zone website hosted at https://ospo.zone. Based on the OW2 Good Governance Initiative, OSPO.Zone is a repository for a comprehensive set of resources for corporations, public institutions, and research and academic organizations. OSPO.Zone will enable the Alliance to connect with OSPOs across Europe and the world as well as with supportive community organizations. It will encourage best practices and foster contribution to the sustainability of the open source ecosystem.

To support its mission, OSPO Alliance is teaming up with a variety of strong partners:

Présentée sur le stand virtuel d'OW2 au FOSDEM 2021, les 6 et 7 février 2021, la plateforme ReachOut accompagne les campagnes de tests de logiciels innovants et récompense les bêta-testeurs participants.

OW2, la communauté internationale qui se consacre au développement et à la promotion de logiciels au code source ouvert pour les systèmes d'information d’entreprises, invite les visiteurs du FOSDEM 2021 à devenir bêta-testeurs ReachOut, à essayer des logiciels de pointe issus de projets de recherche européens et de PME, contre des récompenses monétaires, et un certificat de Software Ranger valorisant leur profil professionnel.

Open Source : Les représentants d’associations, de clusters régionaux et d’entreprises du Libre demandent une "mission logiciel libre" dépendant du Premier ministre, qui travaillerait avec les acteurs de l’écosystème du logiciel libre.

Dans le rapport «Pour une politique publique de la donnée», publié fin décembre, la mission menée par le député (LREM) Eric Bothorel souligne les insuffisances de l'Etat en matière de logiciels libres, et appelle à une vraie stratégie en la matière: «Il convient à notre sens qu’une véritable doctrine stratégique atour du logiciel libre et des formats ouverts, fondée sur l’impératif de la préservation de la maîtrise, de la pérennité et de l’indépendance des systèmes d’information de l’Etat (+ des collectivités territoriales, des établissements et des entreprises publiques ou stratégiques) soit développée.»

Des acteurs du logiciel libre soulignent dans une tribune au « Monde » le rôle-clé du logiciel libre comme moyen de reconquête d’indépendance économique vis-à-vis d’acteurs extérieurs à l’Europe. 

Tribune. Le 1er janvier 2022, pendant que la campagne électorale des présidentielles battra son plein, la France prendra la présidence tournante de l’Union européenne (UE) pour six mois, et aura à cœur de catalyser la collaboration entre les Etats membres. Il sera alors attendu de chaque ministre un programme ambitieux.

Pour aller dans le sens de l’histoire, la France devra promouvoir la collaboration entre Etats dans le domaine du numérique et se hisser à la hauteur des enjeux en plaçant les valeurs d’ouverture, de transparence, d’inclusivité et d’autonomie du logiciel libre au cœur de sa stratégie numérique.

With 80,000 workstations under Linux - that is 90% of its computer equipment - the French public force mainly retains FLOSS components in its digital workplace, including Lemon LDAP::NG and OCS Inventory.

In back office, Lemon LDAP::NG provides single sign-on authentication. "It continues to evolve and provides a very good service," says Arnaud Le Grignou, Squadron Chief in charge of the digital workplace domain at the Internal Security Information Systems and Technologies Department of the French Gendarmerie Nationale.

For its part, OCS Inventory supports the IT asset management and software deployment.

Two examples of open source software from the OW2 community, to which the Gendarmerie Nationale actively contributes.

After NEO (new operational equipment) on Secdroid (secured Android) mobile devices, the next mobile digital workplace seeks to combine ergonomics, performance and security.

L’automatisation de processus via le logiciel ProActive d’ActiveEon gagne du terrain. Elle aide au choix des composants, modèles et paramètres à embarquer sur un satellite détecteur d’incendies, en parallélisant les simulations en laboratoire.

Moins terre à terre que l’optimisation logistique d’entrepôts,  les modèles d’apprentissage automatique embarqués progressent vite, grâce aux analyses multi-modèles et paramétriques. Dans un satellite ou sur un drone sous-marin par exemple, cette automatisation de processus ouvre plusieurs domaines d’applications, comme l’analyse fine d’images, l’auto-diagnostic, voire l’auto-réparation de systèmes à distance.

Des satellites évolutifs

Le 18 décembre 2019, le lanceur Soyouz-Fregat a mis sur orbite trois CubeSats, ces petits satellites fondés sur des unités cubiques standardisées de 10 cm. Parmi eux, le satellite OPS-SAT de l’ESA (European Space Agency) forme le premier test embarquant des applications libres et des techniques de contrôle pour la mise à jour à distance de composants embarqués.

Pour en arriver là, le projet de recherche CIAR (Chaîne Image Autonome et Réactive) de l’Institut de Recherche Technologique Saint-Exupéry de Sophia-Antipolis a consolidé les travaux de sept entreprises – ActiveEon, AViSTO, ELSYS Design, GEO4i, MyDataModels, Thales Alenia Space, TwinswHeel – et de deux laboratoires universitaires, l’Inria et le LEAT (Laboratoire d’Electronique, Antennes et Télécommunications) du CNRS.

Le consortium de ce projet IRT a, dès 2018, anticipé la capacité des solutions d’IA dans des systèmes embarqués pour valoriser la donnée à bord en traitant les images au plus près des capteurs. L’adoption d’un outil d’automatisation et de parallélisation de code métier, accélère les tests de pré-déploiement et améliore leur couverture, dans un soucis qualitatif, quantitatif et économique.
