OW2 community showcases AppHub at OpenStack Summit, a new distribution channel for enterprise cloud applications or services
At OpenStack Summit in Austin, OW2 reveals AppHub, the open source vendor-neutral and OpenStack friendly marketplace.
Austin (TEXAS), USA, April 25, 2016 - OW2 the global community for open source infrastructure software and application platforms, is exhibiting on booth #B32 at OpenStack Summit Austin, showcasing the AppHub open source marketplace. The AppHub project allows seamless deployment of open source software to OpenStack public or private infrastructures. It combines the services for vendors to reach out the market, easing continuous configuration and delivery of enterprise cloud applications or services.
AppHub three main components are:
- the Directory provides information about R&D projects, industrial and SME software.
- the Factory builds software appliances for physical, virtual, and cloud infrastructures.
- the Store offers a selection of enterprise sofware, ready-to-run on a physical, virtual or cloud infrastructure, including OpenStack.
The AppHub project is supported by the European Commission, and brings together the OW2 community, UShareSoft software vendor and Fraunhofer Fokus research institute.

OW2 at the Forefront of the Open Cloud Park Theater at Cloud Expo Europe London 2016
OW2 brings open cloud demonstrations and presentations from international expert speakers.
London, UK, April 12, 2016 - OW2 is exhibiting at Cloud Europe Expo, April 12-13, in London ExCel center, on booth CF9. The global community for open source infrastructure software and application platforms, is contributing to the conference programme, with 14 Open Cloud sessions and a public Panel.
While visiting the show, attendees can ask for software demonstrations from OW2 members and partners such as ActiveEon, Ikoula and from three European collaborative projects:
- AppHub, the European open source marketplace
- OCCIware, the framework for managing everything as a service
- CHOReVOLUTION, automated synthesis of dynamic, secured choreographies for Internet

Yury Glikman Elected Chairperson of the Board of OW2
Paris, March 30, 2016 - OW2, the global community for open source infrastructure software and application platforms announces the new Board of Directors, in charge from March 22, 2016 to March, 21, 2017. The board has re-elected Yury Glikman as its Chairperson and President of OW2 for the second consecutive year.
A long-term board member of OW2, Dr. Yury Glikman is a researcher and a group leader at Fraunhofer FOKUS in Berlin. His group is currently working on open data and IoT platforms for Public Sector with a special focus on technical interoperability.
"OW2 should strengthen its position as a recognized centre of excellence for Open Source Governance. A significant amount of work has been done in this direction during the previous years. OW2 is now well positioned to foster methods and practices that both commercial and academic Open Source projects can refer to", declared Yury Glikman, OW2 Chairperson of the Board.
Wei-Tek Tsai (Beihang University) and Yury Glikman (Fraunhofer FOKUS) were candidates. We are greatly appreciative to Wei-Tek Tsai for his continuous support of the OW2 Board.

Announcing the Open Cloud Village at Cloud Computing World Expo Paris
The OW2 community announces the Open Cloud Village at Cloud Computing World Expo Paris showcasing two open source software vendors and three collaborative projects.
Paris, France, March 23, 2016 - OW2, the global community for open source infrastructure software and application platforms, is exhibiting at Cloud Computing World Expo, March 23-24, in Paris, Porte de Versailles Hall 5.1. The international association leads the Open Cloud Village on booth G07 with innovative cloud solutions from ActiveEon and Nanocloud software vendors, and the AppHub, OCCIware and CHOReVOLUTION collaborative projects.

OW2 Unveils CHOReVOLUTION Studio for IoT and Web services-based applications
At Cloud Computing World Expo 2016, OW2 showcases CHOReVOLUTION Studio, an Integrated Development Environment to develop large-scale applications that integrate IoT and web services.
Paris, France, March 23, 2016 - OW2, he global community for open source infrastructure software and application platforms is exhibiting at Cloud Computing World Expo, March 23-24, in Paris, Porte de Versailles Hall 5.1. The international association announces the alpha release of CHOReVOLUTION Studio, an open source outcome of the H2020 CHOReVOLUTION project.
CHOReVOLUTION Studio is an Eclipse IDE (Integrated Development Environment) that helps develop applications based on automated synthesis of fully distributed, dynamic and secured choreographies. The innovative CHOReVOLUTION Studio allows the transparent reuse of existing software services, and the automated generation of connectors for composing and coordinating these services.

Paris, France, March 23, 2016 - OW2, OW2, the global community for open source infrastructure software and application platforms is exhibiting at Cloud Computing World Expo, March 23-24, in Paris, Porte de Versailles Hall 5.1. The international association demonstrates the AppHub marketplace, a unique distribution channel for free ready-to-use enterprise software. Examples of pre-packaged software include BonitaBPM, SpagoBI, Spago4Q, Hammr and OpenFoam.
Through detailed demonstrations of the AppHub Factory attendees will learn how to generate templates and images that can be seamlessly deployed on any public or private cloud. Currently, 12 cloud formats (including Amazon AWS, MS-Azure, OpenStack, VMware vCloud Director) and 12 virtual formats (including VMware Server, MS-Hyper-V and KVM) are available.
