OW2con 2011, November 23-23: two days of high-level technical
presentations on open source cloud computing and enterprise application platforms
*Paris, November 2, 2011* - OW2, the global open source community for open source middleware and generic applications, announced today the definitive program of OW2con 2011, the third edition of the OW2 community annual conference, November 23-24. This year's theme, “Open Source: The Innovation Drive”, is a testimonial to the value-creation potential of open source and the visionary technologies showcased by the conference program.
This year's keynote speakers are Stephan Hadinger, who is Orange Business Services' Chief Architect of Cloud Computing, and Rainer Zimmermann, head of the European Commission's Software and Service Architectures and Infrastructures Unit.
The two-day international conference will feature over 50 speakers in ten sessions and a roundtable, a bonanza of presentations and demonstrations of OW2 projects, a day-long summit on open source cloud computing and the OW2 Open Source Cloudware initiative (OSCi), a special session on OW2’s quality program SQuAT (Software Quality and Trustworthiness), a unique selection of case studies on deployment of open source solutions, an introduction to four OW2 open source collaborative projects, the first Open Source Innovation catalyst track co-organized by IRILL and, of course, the now legendary OW2 pizza and beer parties!
OW2con 2011 is the annual international gathering of the OW2 community which brings together all of those of us with an interest in state-of-the-art, independent open source software engineering and cloud computing technologies. Quoting from the last satisfaction survey, attendees say OW2con is the place to be for: “good overview of the consortium activities, good presentations, good opportunity to get together (...) and have further discussions.”
