Paris, August 29, 2016 – OW2, the open source community for infrastructure software announces OW2con’16, the annual community event, which will take place from September 21-22 at the Paris Mozilla Space. OW2con'16 offers project presentations and demonstrations, guest speakers, a roundtable, free lunch and OW2's now legendary free beer party! Registration is free of charge.

This year's theme is "Code to Product: Addressing the delivery challenge of open source software.” The conference will explore what software requires to become an actual product. Presentations will showcase the maturity of open source software while success stories will demonstrate its capability to address the needs of real enterprises.

Highlights of the conference include:

  • keynote presentations by Craig Box of Google on Kubernetes and by David Wheeler of the Institute for Defense Analyses on the Linux Foundation's CII Best Practices Badge program,
  • a special session and roundtable on open source software quality and market readiness
  • two sessions dedicated to the recently launched OW2 Privacy and Security initiative (PRISi) and OW2 Open Source Accessibility initiative (OSAi).

Held for the eighth consecutive year, OW2con is the global gathering of the OW2 community and its ecosystem. OW2con'16 brings together the OW2 community and technology experts, software architects, IT developers, project managers and decision-makers from all around the world.

OW2con’16 aims at promoting OW2 code base projects as well as third party projects from the global open source community. It offers participants a unique opportunity to meet and network with members and technology experts from the community, while enhancing their knowledge of the latest technologies.

All sessions will be held in English. Registration is free of charge. For more information and registration, please go to: http://www.ow2con.org.
