[OW2 Newsletter - November 2014 - From the OW2 Management Office]

Dear OW2 Members, dear All,

OW2 has since our last newsletter been busy with three events in China and four in Europe. Our programming contest Award Conference was hosted by Chengdu University of Information Technology, we introduced OW2 at the CHOICE EU-China conference and were invited to give a keynote at the China National Computer Congress. These were followed by an OW2 village and two sessions at Open World Forum, a booth at the OpenStack Summit, participation in the EU workshop on software public consultation, the OW2 Open Cloud Day at the OpenStack Summit and the main day of our annual conference OW2con'14 at Orange Innovations Garden. The contribution to the European Commission's Public Consultation on Cloud Computing and Software submitted by OW2 and the OCEAN project is published here.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the speakers who kindly accepted to take part in the events and conference sessions organized by OW2. Our appreciation also goes to our sponsors Institut Mines-Telecom, OpenStackOrange, Microsoft, Engineering/SpagoBI, UShareSoft, ActiveEon/ProActiveIkoula and the OCEAN, OpenCloudware, RISCOSS and XLcloud projects who helped to make OW2con'14 and the OW2 Open Cloud Day possible and free of charge.

Congratulations to the Beihang University team who won the First Prize in the OW2 Programming Contest and to  the winners of the OW2con'14 Best Project Awards:  erOCCI (Innovation Award), LemonLDAP (Community Award), SpagoBI (Market Award) and Talend (Technology Council Special prize).

I am pleased to announce that ICCLabs, of Zurich University of Applied Sciences, is our newest Corporate Member. ICCLabs focuses on technologies and business issues related to cloud computing and future internet.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Cedric Thomas
