[OW2 Newsletter - July 2017 - From the OW2 Management Office]

Dear OW2 Members, dear All,

OW2con'17 is a wrap! Our appreciation and congratulations for helping to make it such a great success go to all speakers and attendees. We would also like to thank our sponsors, particularly Orange, who kindly provided the venue, Engineering, NGINX, InriaActiveEon and UShareSoft!

A special mention for Engineering's Gabriele Ruffatti. Our former OW2 President's best wishes video was a high point of the opening keynote session. We like it so much we've posted it on our home page, check it out! All conference materials are now published. Please check out the conference slides and videos, and photos of the conference and the party. If you were fortunate enough to attend OW2con'17 (and the 10-year party!), please help us make next year's event even better by giving us your feedback on our short questionnaire.

Congratulations to the winners of this year's OW2con Best Project Awards: SPOON (Community Award), Rocket.Chat (Innovation Award), SeedStack (Quality Award), ProActive (Market Award) and GLPI (Technology Council Award).

The end of conference discussion between attendees and members of the board raised interesting questions regarding the role of OW2 on the European landscape and its interaction with the European Commission. The discussion also addressed why attending OW2con appears to be the reserve of advanced developers and decision-makers. Good topics to keep us busy in the months to come.

On another note, this month I am pleased to welcome new OW2 Corporate Member Savoir-faire Linux, an open source systems integrator who joins OW2 from Canada.

Thanking for your on-going support,

Cedric Thomas

PS: Project leaders: Please use your project dashboard to publish your updates. Your news will appear on our home page and in this newsletter.
