January 2016 Newsletter

[OW2 Newsletter - January 2016 - From the OW2 Management Office]

Dear OW2 Members, dear All,

First and foremost, all of us at OW2 would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy, peaceful and prosperous 2016.

The Design-Build-Run triptych is well known in our industry. It is OW2’s reference model, even if we apply it with a more DevOps kind of approach. Design: still operating according to our by-laws drawn up ten years ago, we are now well positioned on our target market – open source infrastructure software. Build: building the organization led to last year's announcement of our marketplace along with other significant additions that included risk analysis in our quality program, enhancing of OW2’s visual identity and, last but certainly not least, the recruitment of our new CTO. Run: for OW2, this means executing and delivering what we announced. In 2016, we will concentrate on running and fine-tuning the quality program and the marketplace. We do this for the benefit of our projects and members but, of course, none of this would be possible without their support and active participation.

This month we are pleased to welcome new OW2 Corporate Member from Brazil, Anolis a start-up which develops and markets high-privacy-oriented data storage solutions. I am also delighted to announce that major French association ADULLACT has become an Associate Organization of OW2. ADULLACT promotes free software use in local governments and we will join efforts in developing robust open source software quality assessment procedures.

Please note that our General Assembly will be held in Paris on March 23.

Wishing you once again happiness and success for 2016.

Cedric Thomas

PS: Project leaders: Do not forget to use the OW2 Forge to tell everybody about your project updates. News will appear on the OW2 forge, our home page and in this newsletter
