  • Cedric Thomas

    Cedric Thomas, is OW2 CEO. An IT industry veteran with twenty-five years of experience in strategy and marketing consulting for IT vendors and systems integrators, he has developed OW2 into a global community spanning four continents. Prior to OW2, as both an investor and a consultant, he actively took part in three IPOs, contributed to the launch of several technology start-ups, and helped set up technology firms in Boston and San Francisco.

    Before being named President of Cloudwatt Patrick Starck has spent more than 25 years of his career with large international groups operating in the field of infrastructure, software and services. From 2006 to 2011, Patrick Starck has been Corporate Senior Vice President EMEA, CA Technologies, a global information technology (IT) management software company. Previously, Patrick was since 2002, CEO of HP France, EMEA Vice President and General Manager of HP Technology Solutions Group. He joined Compaq in 1994 and spent seven years in various positions and was CEO of Compaq France in 2000. Before, Patrick Starck has spent 10 years at IBM where he held the positions of software development engineer, sales engineer, head of sales for aerospace industry and director of the industry department.

    Gianfranco Boccalon, Spagic Project Leader, is a Senior Consultant at Engineering Group with long experience in the IT field. He has valuable expertise in J2EE architectures and frameworks, in the SOA environment and in software development methods, with a specific focus on performance testing and measurements. Before joining SpagoWorld team, he worked in the development of CAD applications and in consultancy and software development of financial applications.     Bernard Boltz is graduated from the engineering school in Grenoble in 1977. He began working for Alcatel and joined the France Telecom R&D division in 1982. He left Paris on the occasion of the opening of the Sophia Antipolis premises in 1989. He has been in charge of various IT projects. He has a large experience in network management and in software design.

    Denis Caromel Bio: Denis Caromel (PhD. and MBA HEC) is professor at University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis-CNRS and INRIA Sophia. He is also founder and CEO of ActiveEon. His research interests include distributed, and Cloud computing. Denis Caromel gave many invited talks on Cloud, Parallel and Distributed Computing around the world (Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Berkeley, Stanford, NASA Langley, IBM Tom Watson and Zurich). He acted as keynote speaker at several major conferences (MDM, DAPSYS 2008, CGW'08, Shanghai CCGrid 2009, IEEE ICCP'09, ICPADS 2009 in Hong Kong). Recently, he gave many invited talks, e.g. at Devoxx (gathering about 3500 persons), an invited conference on Cloud at Expo Universal 2010, Oct. 18, Shanghai, China, and at 2011 Open Stack Summit in Santa Clara.

    Biography: Cédric Carbone is Talend's Chief Technical Officer since its inception, where he manages the data integration, data quality, big data, MDM, and ESB products lines with an international team of more than 140 R&D engineers. He's also a Board Member at the Eclipse Foundation and OW2 consortium. Cédric has lectured at several universities on technical topics such as XML or Web Services. He holds a Master's Degree in Computer Science and an Advanced Degree in Document Engineering.

From September 2006 to April 2009 he worked as research engineer in SDR domain for WestAquila. In 2008 he was award-winnig to IP conference in Grenoble for the publication "A Generalized Mechanism Waveform Synthesis for Software Radio". From May 2009 to April 2011 he worked has research engineer in ESSOR project. From September 2010 he work as research engineer for Center of Excellance DEWS.
  • Pierre Chatel

    Biography: Pierre CHATEL is an R&T Software Engineer and Interoperability and Big Data activities Manager in the Smart Systems lab of Thales Advanced Studies, with particular expertise in large-scale distributed systems and System of Systems. He is involved in the CHOReOS and and FI-WARE FP7 UE projects, WoO ITE2 project, as well as in CONNECT, SemEUsE and SocEDA French ANR projects. Defended in 2010 and jointly coordinated by LIP6 laboratory (Paris VI University) and by Thales Land & Joint Systems, his PhD thesis has as topic 'A qualitative approach for decision making under non-functional constraints during agile service composition'. Pierre also gave courses on distributed computing from 2007 to 2009 at Paris VII University, and worked as a research engineer at LIP6 in 2010.

    Biography:Frederic Dang Tran is a research engineer at Orange Labs since 1990. He graduated from Telecom ParisTech ENST in 1990. His current research activities focus on cloud computing middleware, virtualization technologies and resource management. He co-represents Orange at the DMTF Cloud Management Work Group since 2011. Paweł Rubach is an IT architect and researcher at Orange Labs Poland since 2007. He received his M.Sc. in Information Systems and Quantitve Methods from the Warsaw School of Economics in 2003 and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Warsaw University of Technology, Faculty of Electronics and Information Systems. Apart from his work for Orange Labs he is an Assistant Professor at the Warsaw School of Economics in the Department of Business Informatics. Since Feb. 2012 he is responsible for the development of the placement management within the Sirocco multicloud broker platform.
  • Gerard Dupont

    Biography: Gérard Dupont is a research engineer in CASSIDIAN (an EADS company). He joined the System Design Center for his PhD, where he applied machine learning techniques to interactive information retrieval. He worked on several projects involving advanced media mining techniques: information extraction, multimedia processing and semantic knowledge bases. In particular he has been working on the WebLab platform since the early design. He participated to its release as an open source project on OW2 in 2008 and now work on the interactive retrieval components as well as enhancement of the core architecture (including privacy protection) through European research projects.

Founder and co-lead of Eclipse JWT (Java Workflow Tooling), available in Eclipse 3.5 and later. Leader of OW2 Scarbo, the Open Source SCA BPM solution. Member of OW2 Technical Committee, Eclipse SOA Project Management Committee, Eclipse Planning Council. Contributor to various other projects like Talend ETL, Alfresco ECM, PEtALS ESB.
  • Clement Escoffier

    Abstract:
    Biography:Clement Escoffier is leading the R&D of Arrow-Group. He is working on providing solutions for the development, deployment and evolution of modular applications. Clement's interests go from the design of complex systems to the mobility and the adaptation of pervasive applications. He is an Apache Felix PMC member and leads the iPOJO project and OW2 Chameleon project. He received a PHD in software engineering from the University of Grenoble in 2008. Guillaume Sauthier works on the OW2 JOnAS project since 2003. He started his career helping J2EE 1.4 certification on the web services area. He became an Apache Axis committer and did the integration of Apache CXF for Java EE 5. His focus moved on the modularity needs of the application server. He is involved in the OSGi community and in the Apache Felix and iPOJO projects. Guillaume is involved in the OW2 community as Chairman of the Technology Council. Christophe is a Software Engineer/Developer/Architect/Addict working on Service Oriented Architecture and Cloud Projects at Linagora, a French Open Source Software Editor and active OW2 member.     Biography:Monica is IT Solution Architect and has more than ten years of experience in the development of projects for the industry and public administration, based on Java technologies. She has worked in the field of content management, search engines, portals as well as web applications security and accessibility. On the strength of her skills and her passion for open source software, she delivers consulting services, training courses and on-the-job training on Business Intelligence and SpagoBI. She contributes to the development of the suite and to the realization of customers' projects. She also carries out promotional activities supporting the spreading and development of the suite at the international level.

    Biography: Daniele Gagliardi, is an IT Solution Architect. Before joining Spago4Q design team, he has been working for several years in the domain of Identity and Access Management, web applications design as well as development of PKI (Public Key Infrastructures) and digital signature products. At present, he contributes to the development of Spago4Q platform and supports Engineering Group's Quality Assurance department in the realization of a technolgical infrastructure for the development and quality assessment of software products and projects.

    Biography: Gabriele Giammatteo graduated (in 2009) in Computer Engineering at the "Università degli studi di Roma Tre" on Secure Storage in distributed environments. He is currently employed in Engineering’s R&D Lab as software engineer with expertise in the set up and management of distributed infrastructures in particular in grid and cloud computational and/or data management systems. He has been involved in some FP7 projects (namely ETICS2, D4ScienceEcosystem) and he is currently working on TEFIS project as WP leader of Work Package 5 in charge of the definition, the design and the implementation of connectors.

  • Marc Lacoste

    Biography: Dr. Marc Lacoste is a senior research scientist in the Security Department of Orange Labs. His main research interests are in security architecture, notably in cloud computing security, self-protecting systems, and open security kernels. He contributed to several European projects such E2R, investigating self-protection for Beyond 3G networks. He served in several major conference program committees. Member of the ACM, he also published numerous security research papers in international conferences, and holds several patents in this area. Dr. Lacoste received engineering degrees from Ecole Polytechnique and Télécom ParisTech, and holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Grenoble, France.

    Biography:Jie Liu received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Science and Technology of China. He joined the Technology Center of Software Engineering at Institute of Software , Chinese Academy of Sciences (ISCAS) as an Assistant Researcher in 2010. ISCAS is a strategic member of OW2 Board and a partner of OW2 Open Source Cloudware initiative. His research interests include Data Integration, Database, Distributed System and Big Data Analysis. He has been a key contributor of OnceDI , a famous data integration middleware in China. He is now the leader of two big data projects in ISCAS: RR-HBase and MDD-MR.

    Biography:Guillaume Sauthier works on the OW2 JOnAS project since 2003. He started his career helping J2EE 1.4 certification on the web services area.     Biography:Vincent Zurczak is a Software Engineer and a Consultant at Linagora. Vincent has been an Eclipse and OW2 committer for several years. He has worked on SOA tooling and Petals ESB. He occupied several positions, including consultant, developer, trainer and now in charge of managing the Petals development team. Christophe Deneux is a Software Architect at Linagora. Formerly employed by Capgemini, he has over 15 years of experience in architecture and Java development. Christophe first started to work on Petals ESB as a contributor. He is now one of the technical leaders on the project.
