Dear OW2 Members, dear All,

November is yet another hectic month for OW2. This week we are launching the CompatibleOne project at Cloud Expo West in Santa Clara, California, along with a host of supporting partners which include Intel, Prologue, ComputeNext, UShareSoft and Cedexis (check out the first pictures).

And while we achieve unprecedented visibility at a major US IT event, we are already getting all pumped up for OW2con'12, the annual conference of the OW2 community. Our program is set to be the best ever:  five keynote addresses, an entirely new workshop on Big Data and our first OW2 Projects Awards.

Things to do at/for OW2con'12:
- help promote the OW2 Annual Conference by inserting the OW2con button in your blog, website or eNewsletter, copy from here.
- listen to and meet with our keynote speakers: Patrick Starck, Cloudwatt, Mark Weitzel, OpenSocial Foundation, Jim Walker, HortonWorks, Ali Ataya, Linanon E-Government Unit, Alexandre Zapolski, Linagora and Alfonso Castro, Microsoft.
- attend our sessions on big data (new this year), open cloud (we have breakthrough technologies to share with you), SQuAT (i.e. Software Quality Assurance and Trustworthiness, our strategic quality program), and our OW2 project spotlight presentations (a classic!).
- check out the great program we've put together for you, REGISTER (space is limited!) and book your hotels.

It's hard to believe that only last month we were buzzing across China from Nanjing to Beijing for our second highly successful China Open Source Week (COSW12). We would particularly like to thank CVIC-SE, NUAA and Peter Cheng for their invaluable help. We already have great plans for COSW13. For more details and pictures of the different COSW events, please follow the links from here.

On another note, we are pleased to welcome LINAGORA as a new member in our community. A leading open source systems integrator in France, LINAGORA joins OW2 to promote its research and development activity and grow its international business.

I look forward to seeing many of you again at OW2con'12 (November 27-29) in Paris!

Play Event Marketplace: Elastic and reliable architecture for dynamic and complex, event-driven interaction in large highly distributed and heterogeneous service systems.

CHOReOS: Framework and Integreted Development and Run Time Environment for scalable service choreographies for applications in the future internet of things.

OpenSocial Workshop at OW2con'12, Nov. 27, Paris

Our friends at OpenSocial will host a full-day workshop that will set the stage for what the next generation of open and social middleware is looking to deliver, present an overview of the open source projects, and show how they are being used across multiple commercial vendors like IBM, Jive Software, and others. More.

OCEAN Project Kick-off, October 18th, Brussels

OCEAN - Open Cloud for Europe, JApan and beyoNd is a two-year european project. Another result of the OW2 Open Source Cloudware initiative (OSCi) OCEAN aims at generating synergies among open cloud projects. More here or visit the OCEAN project website.

OW2 will exhibit at Cloud Expo Europe in London and showcase CompatibleOne and several leading cloud computing open source collaborative projects including OpenCloudware, XLcloud and OCEAN. More.

We are looking at the opportunity of organizing an "OW2 Pavilion" in the Open Source Park at CeBIT next year. Located right at the heart of the open source area, it is one of Europe's largest business-oriented events for open source software.
