Our conference theme, “Open Source: The Innovation Drive” is a testimonial to the value creation potential of open source and to the state of the art technologies presented by our 50 distinguished speakers. OW2con 2011 will showcase the leading role played by the OW2 community in the changing nature of open source software. OW2 is uniquely positionned to leverage the evolution of open source from a disruptive model in commoditized product categories to key innovation driver in emerging technology segments such as cloud computing.
Last month's China Open Source Week ( ) was a great success. Propelling OW2 to a new level in China, we are already committed to COSW2012. As a direct result of COSW we are pleased to welcome two new members: Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics ( ) who will host the 2012 OW2-Scilab programming contest conference and , China's most dynamic pure play open source systems integrator.

OW2 Programming ContestThe first prize of the 2011 OW2 Programming Contest was awarded to Sa Wang, Feng Zhu, Yulong Wu, Fei Tian, of Institute of Software Chinese Academy of Sciences, for their contribution in adding a script module for Internet application to Bench4Q. Cloud Expo Europe 2012OW2 is planning to be present at Cloud Expo Europe 2012, January 25-26 in London to promote OSCi and CompatibleOne. Please contact us if you want to participate in the OW2 booth or give a talk in the conference track we'd like to organize.
