Ths month, we are pleased to welcome two great new members to OW2:
Canonical: an outstandng contributor to the promotion of open source, the company behind the Ubuntu project will take an active part in the Open Source Cloudware initiative and certify our technolgies to develop its cloud computing platform.
Kingdee: the leader of the SME enterprise management software and middleware market in the Asia-Pacific region and one of the fastest-growing independent software vendors in the world, Kingdee will also èbe a powerful addition to the OW2 China Local chapter.
We are pleased to announce that the OW2 Chameleon project has been upgraded to "mature" status.

The Technology Council has accepted a new project in incubation.
Sirocco: a multi-cloud Infrastructure-as-a-Service software platform featuring management of multiple cloud providers, unified self-service Web portal, programmatic access through a REST API and multi-hypervisor support.

OW2 Programming Contest
The 2011 OW2 programming contest is now in full swing. Calling all IT students: check out the 30 topics submitted by our project leaders and register here. You still have time, the deadline for contestant registration is July 1st, 2011. More.
OpenStack Design Summit and Conference
The highlight of our presentation of the OW2 Open Source Cloudware initiative and the CompatibleOne project at the OpenStack Design Summit and Conference was a live demonstration of OW2 ProActive deploying and undeploying OpenStack nodes. More.
OW2 Day in Berlin
Join us May 16 for a full day of presentations on OW2 and Open Source in government and SMEs. Many thanks to Fraunhofer FOKUS for their support in Berlin. The next OW2 Day in Germany will be in Munich. More.
We are still working with our members in Brazil on organizing an OW2 presence at FISL 2011, June 29-July 2, and a series of OW2 presentations and meetings in several major cities, July 4-8. More.
Although once again none of the talks we submitted were accepted, OSCON is still one of our favorite open source events. We will be there, showcasing the Open Source Cloudware initiative and our collaborative projects CHOReOS and CompatibleOne. More.
OW2 Integrated Java Stack
OW2 has announced a comprehensive integrated platform for enterprise Java applications comprised of the OW2 Java EE 5 JOnAS Java Application Server, certified with PostgreSQL and the Oracle JDK, available on Ubuntu 11.04 which was released on April 28. More.
The elections for the OW2 Board of Directors are now over. Check out who are our 19 board members for 2011 on the board page here. The election of the chairperson is now open until the next board meeting whch will be held on May 10, 9:30am-12:00pm.
OW2 Management Office
In order to align our operational resources with OW2's development, we are actively seeking an experienced administrative assistant and a webmaster. More.
Open Source Week in BeijingAfter the success of the OW2 Open Source Corporate Networking meeting in Beijing last September, we are launching the Beijing Open Source Week in October 10-17, 2011. Please check out the agenda here.
OW2 Annual Conference
The 2011 OW2 Annual Conference will be held November 23-24, in the Orange Labs conference center. We expect 300 attendees. The call for presentations and other details will be available shortly.
OW2 Meetups in the San Francisco Bay Area
We now have enough members and supporters in the San Francisco Bay Area to organize meetups there; perhaps in July just before OSCON. A great way to promote OW2 and its members and develop networking. Drop us a line you are interested or if you can help.
