{style:type=span|font-size=8px}[OW2 Newsletter - January 2011 - From the OW2 Management Office]{style}

{style:type=div|align=left}Dear OW2 Members, dear All, {style}

First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy, peaceful and prosperous 2011.

I would also like to thank all our stakeholders, particularly the OW2 Management Office who runs our day-to-day operations (thank you, you are amazing!), our Members without whom OW2 would not exist (we owe you all!), our community of contributors who continue to develop this wonderful software (great job!) and our users - the ever-growing number of downloads proves we are doing something right!

2010 was a year of transition. While our revenue and membership remained stable, we positioned OW2 at the center of the open source cloud trend by our timely launch of the Open Source Cloudware initiative and we secured our financial independence for the next two years by involving OW2 in two large collaborative projects. And 2010 ended on a high note with the success of our Annual Conference.

Looking forward to 2011, we have some great projects. During the year you can expect to see the completion of our forge migration and full development of OW2's Software Quality Assurance Track (SQuAT) which was officially launched in November after receiving the go-ahead from the Technology Council and the Board. We will also further develop our activity and partnerships in the cloud computing arena and we fully expect several new high-profile companies and projects to join OW2. In 2011, a number of events will confirm OW2's leadership; these include the Open World Forum, the Beijing Open Source Week and, of course, our Annual Conference.

On another note, our General Assembly will be held on March 9, in Paris.

All the team at OW2 wish you and your families a very happy and successful new year and we look forward to working with you in 2011.

Thanking you for your on-going support.

{style:type=div|align=left}PS: Project leaders: Do not forget to use the OW2 Forge to tell everybody about your project updates. News will appear on the [OW2 forge>http://forge.ow2.org/news/>blank], our [home page>http://www.ow2.org/>blank] and
