{style:type=div|align=left}Dear OW2 Members, dear All,

 {style} {style:type=div|align=left}The [OW2 Annual Conference>http://www.ow2.org/view/Events2010AnnualConference/>blank] was of course the focal point for our community in November. The 2010 OW2 Annual Conference showcased a unique industry-changing community effort spanning application platforms, components, middleware and tools for the development, deployment and management of distributed applications and software infrastructure.

Our appreciation and congratulations go to all speakers and attendees who helped to make the event a success. We look forward to seeing you at next year's
OW2con! Check out the link [here>http://www.ow2.org/view/Events/OW2AnnualConference2010>blank] for [photos>http://www.ow2.org/xwiki/bin/view/Events.Photos/OW2AnnualConference2010Photos>blank]*,* presentation [videos>http://ow2.org/view/Events2010AnnualConference/Program>blank]  and [slides>http://www.ow2.org/view/Events2010AnnualConference/Program>blank]. If you were able to attend, please share your feedback with us via our brief online survey [here>http://www.esurveyspro.com/Survey.aspx?id=9b14dbff-89da-4bab-9df4-982ac6359501].{style} {style:type=div|align=left}The 2010 OW2 Annual Conference is a milestone in our development and highlights the role we play on the evolving open source scene. While historically grounded in the aspiration for free software and with values inspired by the academic world, the open source market growth is fueled by a long-term trend toward software commoditization as its creates opportunities for open source-based market entry strategies. However, a third moment is currently unfolding: at this point, open source, supporting cooperative open innovation and market dissemination, is becoming in its own right a change driver of the software industry.

Recognizing this new pattern, OW2 provides the business ecosystem platform that helps industry stakeholders such as private companies, governments, software developers and customers to develop appropriate open source strategies. The launch of the OW2 Open Source Cloudware initiative and the central theme of our conference this year, "*Open source for open clouds*", are expressions of this endeavour. {style}{style:type=div|align=left}Thank you for your on-going support,

PS: Project leaders: Do not forget to use the OW2 Forge to tell everybody about your project updates. News will appear on the [OW2 forge>http://forge.ow2.org/news/>blank], our [home page>http://www.ow2.org/>blank] and in this [newsletter>http://www.ow2.org/xwiki/bin/view/Newsletters/>blank]!{style}
