Use Cases Session
Schedule: Thursday November 24, from 10:00 to 12:30.
Session Chair: Alexandre Lefebvre, Orange Labs/OW2
1. JOnAS uses in Orange
Schedule: 10:00- 10:30
Speaker: Bernard Lupin, Orange
Abstract: JOnAS is used in France Telecom / Orange information system and services platforms as the main Java Application Server since several years. This presentation shows how Orange takes advantages of this solution, implements technical architectures and uses other OW2 products (JASMINe, JORAM, ...).
2. EasySOA : Putting a collaborative twist on SOA thanks to OW2
Schedule: 10:30- 11:00
Speakers: Marc Dutoo, OpenWide and Alain Boulze, EasiFab
Abstract: Technical complexity has overshadowed that Service Oriented Technical complexity has overshadowed that Service Oriented Architecture's first goal is enabling business agility - and for that, it's time to put people beyond developers and architects back in the middle of it all. To do that, the EasySOA project ( builds on top of the OW2 Nuxeo DM collaborative document management platform, and has embedded in it a custom tailored
service bus based on the OW2 FraSCAti heterogeneous service platform. This presentation details the architecture of FraSCAti integration in Nuxeo, thanks to Nuxeo's OSGI-style architecture, and how it allows to automatically discover SCA-defined services, and to lay the foundations of an agility-fostering "SOA sandbox". This integration will be
demonstrated on stage, as well as the innovative features it enables such as online collaborative service discovery.
Further plans will be unveiled and OW2 community feedback will be asked about it, such as unified monitoring API along with OW2 Talend and OW2 Jasmine, or contribution to OW2 Cloud initiative projects such as the sister project Compatible One. Real world user feedback will be provided by EasySOA's Partner Entreprise Program, through end-user designed use cases such as collaborative SOA documentation, auditing an SOA, integrating with Eclipse SOA tools and API change detection.
BREAK: 11:00 - 11:30
3. Wide-spreading performance testing at Orange with OW2 CLIF: an SOA use case
Schedule: 11:30 - 12:00
Speaker: Bruno Dillenseger, France Telecom/ Orange
Abstract: The CLIF Load Injection Framework project was launched in year 2003 by Orange Labs (France Telecom R&D) and INRIA, in the ObjectWeb /OW2 community. Since then, Orange Labs have been leading this project, bringing many code contributions. Why? As an integrated telco, Orange has to handle and interconnect a great variety of Information and Networking technologies, with high stakes in terms of service availability and quality of service. Testing in general, and more particularly performance testing, has become a major challenge for Orange. Among the tens of real CLIF use cases at Orange, we focus on the WSOI test case, the web-service oriented infrastructure that runs over 500 web services consumers and providers, and handles about half a billion calls per month for the Orange Group.
4. Best practices for BPM implementations - feedbacks from BOS implementations
Schedule: 12:00 - 12:30
Speaker: Rodrigue Le Gall, BonitaSoft
Business Process Management (BPM) is the discipline focused on optimizing the efficiency of a business. Although Business Process Management implementation has many immediate and long-term benefits, a poor start can jeopardize the overall success of the mission. This talk will address good practice that help ensure the success of an organization's BPM implementation while minimizing the possibility of any potential setbacks.
