| Motivations | My goal is to drive widespread adoption and further the innovation of open source business software. I know I share this goal with many other individual members of the OW2 community. I would like to propose myself as their point of contact in effecting this goal on behalf of the OW2 community's individual members.
For me, OW2 is at a very interesting stage and demonstrating fantastic momentum, I very much wish to contribute to this growth and act as an official ambassador for the community, especially representing the interests of the individual members.
Indeed, individual members have been somewhat neglected in recent years within OW2. I think it's time to better identify and address their needs and contribute to the OW2 board.
Social networking has proven itself to be an excellent way to gather people together who share the same objectives. In August, 2007 I discovered OW2 was not yet present nor active on LinkedIn. Back then I took the initiative to create and manage a dedicated OW2 group on LinkedIn [www.linkedin.com/groups?gid=683257]. This group now has more than 400 members and has become a valued part of the OW2 community outreach efforts to professionals, enterprises and organisations, globally. |
