Since the beginning, I have been Engineering Groups representative at OW2 BoD, in which I have always played an active role, participating in almost all board meetings as well as in many OW2 events. I continuously involve Engineering Groups people into OW2 community, also through the various activities fostered by the consortium, such as : technology council, OW2 BI Initiative (currently Big Data Initiative), OW2 Open Source Cloudware initiative, OW2 events, on-line/in-person meetings, on-line discussions. I think that the active participation in a community is a key factor for its growth and success. Last year I was Chairman of OW2 Board of Directors, working to secure OW2 position in the OSS landscape and to enlarge the community through a more presence in European Collaborative Projects and a greater exposure of its members. My participation in next board aims to support the realization of the various actions that last board has suggested for this new OW2 year, helping steer the community into new direction.

Since more than 3 years, I was engaged in advanced mobile and cloud projects conducted in Prologue Group, a software and services company located in France, Spain and USA. One of these projects, CompatibleOne, in which OW2 acted as a member with significant contribution in disseminating the Open Source results of the project, became a flagship project that influenced the business development strategy of Prologue. Use it Cloud Broker, based on the Open Source code became a commercial platform launched at Cloud Expo Europe February 2014, in London. As Prologue Managing director, I believe strongly in organizations like OW2, for their impact on leveraging innovation for the benefit of all communities, customers, vendors and research teams. The announcement we made in London, where we shared the same booth with OW2, demonstrated the effectiveness of Open Source approach, the power of being united, and this event has been followed by another event in Paris, April 9 and 10, where Prologue joined a panel organized and chaired by OW2, where we attracted many participants and engaged very positive dialogue on how to select open source components or stacks to build Open Clouds. By joining the board of OW2, I will be supporting the its activity bringing industry perspective and market demands to influence various decisions on new projects to launch and widen the scope of collaboration at the European level where large initiatives (i.e. Horizon 2020) have been launched, and that should not be missed by OW2.
